huangaroring, Hungary Circuit Guide
Based in the nation of Hungary, this is one of the most impressive racing tracks around thanks to its incredible attention to detail and understanding of what makes racing so fun for the spectator; it’s not always just the quality of the vehicle on display, it comes down to the quality of the actual circuit that they are racing on as well. First built in 1985, the 70,000 Huangaroring is one of the most popular of it’s kind as it adds a stunning piece of tourist attraction and history to a nation that truly loves it’s motor racing and competitive sport.
Having been finished in just eight months, the Huangaroring was one of the true testaments to industrial and engineering quality, as well as exciting racing. With roughly 4.38km in length and 16 turns to take on, you can find that flying around this track can be a lot of fun thanks to the large selection of straights.
It’s seen big wins from top drivers over the years, with the likes of Schumacher, Alonso, Button and Kovalainen all doing well here. Due to the nice weather in Hungary, the first wet GP didn't take place here until 2006; more than 30 years after it’s original creation! This changed the style of the race further for these legends, making it a far more direct race than many would have been used to in the past.
If you are looking to take on an exciting race that has plenty of tricks and turns then you would be well served looking into the Hungarian racing scene, particularly here at the Huangaroring. The likes of DTM and FIA GT Championship races all take place.
challenging & high speed circuit
For those who enjoy the narrower tracks with plenty of bends and twists in there, it becomes much easier to manage thanks to the pace that the vehicles are able carry throughout the lap. This makes the entire experience far more enjoyable for those who have turned up, allowing them to take in a true feat of driving from those who compete. Not to mention, how many other race tracks have a water park overlooking the track?
This track is real joy to drive, with a great start at turn 1, providing plenty of room and different racing lines to get to the quick turn 2 and best exit from there down to turn 3 & 4, which is a corner complex that sees regular opportunities for getting past. Exit speed is really a big feature here, with long high speed sections following some of the most important corners. From turn 3 all the way to the hairpin at 6, you will be getting faster. Turn 5 will take a few laps on our simulators to perfect, but it's great when you get it right.
The high speed second sector is started with a tight hairpin, before the complex of flowing fast right and left handers lead towards the final sector, which is mostly made up of two long hairpins, requiring careful positioning for the exit onto the main straight.
